In this module, parents will be able to explore various forms of communication suited for fostering meaningful connections with their deaf child. The primary goal is to familiarize families with the diverse possibilities that communication can take, whether it’s through spoken language, sign language, or a combination of both methods. The aim is not to overwhelm but to provide practical information that can guide families in making informed decisions about their preferred communication approach.

This module seeks to demystify sign languages, acknowledging that they are often misunderstood or overlooked by many. Recognizing this gap in understanding, we offer general information on sign languages to clear up misconceptions and bring awareness to this important facet of communication.

Going beyond theory, our focus extends to providing families with tangible tools and advice for seamlessly integrating their chosen communication method into their daily lives. The objective is to make the transition from theory to practice smoother, offering practical guidance that resonates with the everyday experiences of families with deaf children.
